Flash Cards with DSi?

Is it possible to use those R4 card things on the DSi? I have no idea about this stuff but I want to get one because I'm cheap. Is there a website explaining them?

I don't know the rules exactly but this might not be allowed since R4s are illegal since its stealing o.O

It's not stealing if I use it to copy games I already own. :P

I think you can use an Acekard on the DSi. But you might not want to since the DSi receives regular updates from Nintendo that might figure out you're using one and render your card useless.

I'm scared now. O.O

You can use them on a DSi my boyfriend and his friend both use them.

Yes, there are ones that are made for DSi now (the old ones won't work). http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.18728

BTW, the device itself is not illegal, just the downloading of games you don't pay for is. =)

Thanks!

Do you know, by chance, what kind of adapter I would need for the MicroSD card?

R4 and all other older carts (including the Datel Games 'n Music) won't work on DSi. Acekard2i and most other "i" carts will, but Nintendo could easily put out a firmware update to kill them.

If your reason for buying one is that you're "cheap" as you say, just buy your damn games, piracy is killing the industry.

If you want one for homebrew and playing your legitimately bought games, well then good for you. I'm personally waiting and hoping for a SD slot solution, but that could be far off.

Piracy is killing the industry? Do you have any proof of this or is this just an opinion statement?

Waiting for a future cart which has withstood the test of firmware and software upgrades, and time.

This one's lookin' pretty cool, but who knows if the developers will stick with it:

BUUT.... looks like the CycloDS team is still goin' strong... making me want to NOT wait and just jump on the CycloDS team:

http://eng.supercard.sc/manual/dsonei/jsh.html

This flashcart works with the dsi and will have updates to the card itself(Hence the adapter thing) if nintendo ever patches over and makes it unsusable.

I kinda want this but I already got a acekard2i lol..

I have a supercard ds one (an older version) and from my experience they aren't very good about updating software, just saying. From what I've heard acekard2i is considered the best deal at the moment, and since you already have one, I'd say not worth it to buy the supercard now. =)

You can get the latest news and help on flashcart at gbatemp.com ... just don't ask about where to download nds roms (google it and just click on the first link).
