Flash Cards with DSi?
14th-May-2009 02:31 pm
Is it possible to use those R4 card things on the DSi? I have no idea about this stuff but I want to get one because I'm cheap. Is there a website explaining them?

Thanks!

Do you know, by chance, what kind of adapter I would need for the MicroSD card?

you don't need an adapter. the microSD card goes into the flash cart.

Um, I'm not sure about adapters, but some flashcarts actually come with the microSD card reader. I don't think it should be very expensive to purchase either of them. And personally, I wouldn't worry too much about this firmware update stuff. Plus, flashcarts are so affordable now that it wouldn't be a major loss (financially speaking).

Yes, microSD card reader is what I meant.

you could've replied to my comment if i misunderstood @_@;

if your computer has an SD card reader, you can stick it into a microSD card apapter (same size as a regular SD card, but you insert the card into it). as the other person said, most flash carts come bundled with a USB microsd card reader.

Will this reader work with the Acekard 2i?

Also, do I need to buy a MicroSD card or is it included with this?

it's not that the reader has to work with the flash cart. the reader has to be able to read microSD cards. as it says, SD/MiniSD/MMC/MicroMMC/MicroSD/MS/MSDUO/XD Card Reader

you have to buy the microSD separately, of course. it's like, $10 for 2 gigs. you should read the reviews, though.

Other Thoughts: Maybe it should state that no memory card is supplied. I bought this for a person with no experience and it took him quite some time to realize that he should buy a TF card beforehand.

I have a 256 mb card already. That's probably too small though, huh? It says SD card so I'm thinking it's the wrong one.

I do have an 8 GB card that came with my BB Storm that says MicroSD right on it.

some games are tiny, but you're better off getting at least 2 gigs, i think. and if it's an SD card, it won't fit.

and yeah, the Acekard supports SDHC! Support SDHC TF card. Virtually unlimited storage size!
